Bonn Law Participates in 2016 United Way Day of Caring
On June 9, 2016 the Bonn Law team had the rewarding opportunity to assist Community Living Belleville & Area through the United Way Day of Caring.
The dust was flying as Cristina, Joelle, Gillian, Amanda, Stephanie and Chris sanded, scraped and brushed away years of dirt and old stain from a large octagonal picnic table and double gliding swing set; both of which we are told are used extensively by the members of Community Living. We then got out our brushes and stained both pieces to give them a facelift and protect from the weather; though some of us may have ended up with more on us and our clothes, the finished product was something we can be proud of.
The United Way Day of Caring is a community-wide United Way event that demonstrates the power of volunteering. Participants from businesses that support United Way of Quinte take on light construction, gardening and maintenance tasks while gaining behind-the-scenes insight into the work of local agencies in Hastings & Prince Edward Counties. It’s a win-win for all; much needed projects are completed for agencies and volunteers learn about their community through a hands-on experience.
Community Living Belleville & Area is an accredited non-profit organization, established in 1951, which provides services and supports to people with intellectual disabilities.
