Criminal Defence

Ruth Roberts is a tough and highly experienced criminal defence lawyer, with years of trial experience and a reputation for defending difficult cases. She is a fearless advocate who works tirelessly for her clients. She has defended charges as diverse as homicide, sexual assaults, child pornography, drug cases, domestic assaults, property offences, and pretty much everything in between. She brings to all her cases her passion for criminal law and her unshakeable belief in the importance of the presumption of innocence.

“Who but I will speak for them?”

In her private life, Ruth is an avid home cook, with a special interest in breads and preserves. In bread making she finds the Zen and peace which keep her grounded, and she loves nothing more than to cook a meal for friends. She is also a painter, photographer and published author. In her life before law school, Ruth was very active in her community, sitting on numerous Boards. She was a recipient of the Canada 125 Medal in recognition of her volunteer service. She was also involved in Municipal politics, and served as a Federal Returning Officer in Scarborough. She is the mother of two sons, who have taught her the intricacies of social networking. She lives in Belleville with her partner and their companion animals.

Ruth Roberts is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
